Collection Colour Correctors

When I saw these new little things on the Collection stand at Boots a few days ago, I had to give them ago and at £3.99 each I could not say no. I've always been sceptical about colour correctors and wondered if they actually worked as I didn't really know if was just like an optical illusion that having different colours on your face could have the ability to blend into your skin tone, if that makes sense.

The range comes in three colours, yellow, green and purple which target to conceal different specific areas that we may suffer from and a little more help than just a usual light concealer.

So what do each of the colours do?

Yellow: To combat purple tones that we may have, I certainly have this in the inner corner of my eyes sometime, whether I'm tired or not! When I blended this into my skin using a beauty blender I instantly saw a difference. The formula is just like the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer however certainly does a better job at hiding my purple toned eyes!

Green: To help reduce the look of red tones such as blemishes. I used this on a few spots that I had popping up on my face, especially an unwelcome bully of a spot on my chin! And again, it really helped to conceal (as it should)

Purple: Helps to takeaway any yellow tones that you may have. Now, I didn't really know I had a lot yellow tones on my skin but when I looked closely, I did find that particularly around my nose it needed a little bit of concealing, so when I applied this onto the very corners of my nose it did help to balance out my skin tone.

For those of you who are wanting to enter the world of colour correctors but may not wish to break the bank just yet, these are an excellent starter as they're super affordable and do the job perfectly, I'll definitely be repurchasing these when I run out!

Do you have a favourite makeup brand?

  1. I don't put on much makeup so I haven't tried many makeup brands but I often buy nail polish and mascara from Yves Rocher and Kiko! xx corinne

  2. Great post dear, thanks for sharing. I'm yet to try colour correctors, but it sounds like these affordable beauties work well and are great as a beginners step into the world of correcting.

  3. I haven't tried color correctors. They kind of scare me and I'm not too talented with makeup. Right now my favorite makeup is the LipSense lipstick. I kind of jumped on the bandwagon with that one!
