My skin care routine: UPDATED

Happy Monday!

Like many of us, due to weather changes, hormones, stress and basically everyday life. It is inevitable that I get a few spots here and there. However, over the past week my skin has been quite bad than it usually is.

So, seeing as I had a little break from university last week I thought that was the time to really give my skin some love and affection.

My skin type is combination to oily, meaning I have to make sure that the products I use don't have anything that could make my skin even more oily which could lead to more breakouts and clogging up my pores.

I use Dermalogica Oil Clearing Matte Moisturiser spf 15 £16.15 daily, to make sure I have the best chance of keeping my face as oil free as I can. After suffering from acne for a good few months, and using high end brands such as Clinique, I got recommended Dermalogica by the lady that does my eyebrows - ever since I bought this moisturiser, I will never use any other moisturiser.

Every other day I use the Blackhead clearing pore control scrub £13.10, also from Dermalogica. This scrub also helps to remove any excess oil from my face and really gives a smooth touch. From past experiences, I found that other facial scrubs can be extremely harsh on the skin, leaving it more irritated. But with the control scrub, from the very first time I used it I felt an immediate change in the way my skin felt - for the better obviously.

Every night I use the Breakout Clearing Overnight Treatment £13.10, as it means I can go to sleep while the treatment combats any breakouts I have, the treatment itself is very light and dewy so it doesn't feel like you have anything on your skin during the night - its absorbs extremely quickly as well so you don't need to worry about any product going onto your pillow.

In addition to my daily routine, last week I used Montagne Jeunesse Black Seaweed Peel Off Masque which for £1, really really helps to clear up the skin.

But most importantly, try to drink at least 2 litres of water a day to help add hydration to the skin, especially throughout winter.

I also have started using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which is at the moment on sale for £3.33 down from £4.99 I use this every time I take off my makeup after using Simple Cleansing Wipes which, due to my sensitive skin do wonders for me. I found using a micellar water after using my cleansing wipes really helps to ensure I have taken my makeup off entirely as I don't think I can rely on just one makeup remover.

Lastly, as I suffer from oily skin especially around the T-zone, I occasionally use the Seaweed Clarifying Toner, from the body shop.

DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with Dermalogica Or Boots.

  1. I love using Simple's light hydrating moisturiser for my face and vaseline moisturiser for my body. Before applying moisturiser to my face, I always give it a wipe over with witch hazel on some cotton wool, which helps to clean the pores and any make up my wipes may have missed!

    1. I haven't tried Simples light hydrating moisturiser! I'll give it a go once my other moisturiser has ran out! Thanks for the tip ;)
